Sanatçı, müzisyen ve yazar Hassan Khan, Salt Beyoğlu'nda süren ve bugüne kadarki en kapsamlı sergisi olan Hassan Khan'ın kapanış haftasında Ghetto'da, Superstructure (II) adlı bir müzik performansı gerçekleştirecek.
Bu, Ghetto'da son setiyle sahne alacak olan Khan'ın İstanbul'daki üçüncü performansı olacak. Bu seferki performans, büyüleyici bir ışıltıya sahip yaylı aranjmanları, noktürnal piyano menüetleri ve ince ince işlenmiş elektronik seslerden, sert gamelan vuruşları ile hardcore new-wave synth-shaabi müziğine varan bir çeşitlilik sunuyor. Kapanış ise, erken 20. yüzyıl Mısır klasiklerinden birinin, Khan'a ait minimal yeniden yorumu olan "Taraban" ile yapılıyor.Khan, önceden yazılmış ve kaydedilmiş bölümlerle birlikte geri beslemeli mikserler, filtreler, işlemciler, laptop manipülasyonu, sanal synthesizer ve canlı mikrofonlar da kullanıyor. Müziğinin tamamı özgün ve canlı.
6 Ocak 2013 tarihinde kapanacak olan Hassan Khan sergisi, uluslararası alanda yoğun bir ilgi gördü ve Artforum dergisi tarafından 2012'nin en unutulmaz sergilerinden biri seçildi. Superstructure (II) performansıyla Khan'ın işleri bir başka İstanbul mekânında, benzersiz kompozisyonlarından oluşan son setinin biçemi ve içeriğini de şekillendiren Ghetto'da sunuluyor. Superstructure (II), 2011'de Salt Beyoğlu'nda yaptığı Superstructure (Ulusun Cephanesi) performansının içeriğini geliştirirken yeni düzenlemeler ve kompozisyonları da öne çıkarıyor.

To mark the closing of Hassan Khan at SALT Beyoğlu, the most comprehensive exhibition of works by artist, musician and writer Hassan Khan to date, Khan will perform the concert SUPERSTRUCTURE (II) at Ghetto.
Having performed in İstanbul on two previous occasions, Khan is back in town with his latest set. This time the mood ranges from a delicate breakdown of mesmeric shimmering string arrangements, nocturnal piano minuets, and finely wrought electronica, to the brutal beats of stacked gamelan riffs and hardcore new-wave synth-Shaabi. The concert's coda "Taraban" is Khan's own minimal reinterpretation of an early 20th century Egyptian classic.
Khan uses a battery of feedbacking mixers, filters, processors, laptop manipulation, virtual synthesizer and live mikes in tandem to pre-composed and recorded sections. All the music is original and live.
The exhibition Hassan Khan, which is open until January 6, 2013, has received immense international attention including a listing as one of the most memorable exhibitions of 2012 in Artforum magazine. The concert SUPERSTRUCTURE (II) introduces Khan's work at another İstanbul venue: Ghetto, a space that frames the style and content of his latest set of unique compositions. While SUPERSTRUCTURE (II) develops on the content of SUPERSTRUCTURE (The Ammunition of the Nation), which was performed by Khan at SALT Beyoğlu in 2011, it brings a new set of arrangements and compositions to the fore.
